Hale's NFL Picks
What happened in Week 13?
(Hale handicaps all games, but not all games are "picks")
Hale had a great week, going a perfect
4-0 -- yes, 100% -- in Week 13. The summary sentences for
the picks are listed below:
Ratings, and FULL analysis in the weekly email:
- Green Bay - 9.5 -- BEST BET: "Look for
Green Bay to make a statement with their recently-stifled offense, and
for these opportunists to have the game over by half-time."
- Washington + 3.5 -- PICK: "Hale
predicts a strong 'Skins effort here, as the Redskins beat the 49ers
outright, showing they're one of the NFC's legitmate contenders this
year."
- Buffalo - 9.5 -- PICK: "What kind of
damage can be inflicted against a defense that allows 60% of passes to be completed
and 132 rushing yards per game? Hale cringes at the thought and leans
toward the Bills."
- Seattle/Oakland OVER 41 -- PICK
Best Bets (last 11 weeks): 16-7
Week 14 Public Pick

- Carolina - 6
It's hard to go against the Panthers at home (10-3 in
franchise history), and these Bucs remind Hale of the Ram game two
weeks ago. You look at the Tampa Bay scores, and figure they've got a
good defense. Of course, Carolina's D is #1 in many categories, so
people figure it to be a low-scoring game (catch that low totals
line?). Actually, Hale's expecting something along the lines of a
29-10 score here, all Panthers.
- Seattle + 10
You look at the Seahawks, and you figure that they can't
handle tough teams on the road (1-7 as dogs). Then you see they're
10-3 on the road after allowing a big score, and 7-3 on the road after
2 losses. What's it mean? Let's keep looking. Denver, as great as
they've been this season, is 0-8 at home after 2 wins (0-2 this year).
Also at home, the Broncos are 1-11 when their opponent has just lost.
See, it appears that the Seahawks get more points than they need in
situations like theirs, and Denver gives more than they can afford in
situations like theirs. Too many points here for Denver to be giving
as they play a bad team, but not THAT bad.
- Atl/SF UNDER 44.5
