Hale's NFL Picks
What happened in Week 16?
(Hale handicaps all games, but not all games are "picks")
Hale's one Best Bet -- New York Giants spotting the hapless Saints a
measly 6 points -- didn't click as overall picks went 1-2 this week. Carolina
was the lone bright spot in a very conservative week of picks... perhaps
the fewest picks in Hale's history. And yes, it seems both of the public
picks came through (yay).
The playoffs are right around the corner, and Hale's never had two losing
weeks in a row. Even with this week's result, Best Bets are still impressive
overall.
Best Bets (last 13 weeks):
Week 16 Public Pick
Haven't you been monitoring long enough? Write for all picks!
- Carolina - 8: Hale's been a believer
in Carolina all season long, and had them last week against the 49ers.
Their run should continue against a Raven team that does not do well on
the road against stiff competition (1-8 since 1993). Carolina is 7-2 after
two covers, and 11-2 against teams that rely too heavily on the pass. At
home, they're 11-3, and those 3 fails were last season. In Carolina, no
team has scored more than 17 points, and the average score has been 27-8.
Against a Raven defense that's allowing 28 per game (28th in the league),
this one's an easy call.
- Miami/Buffalo UNDER 41.5 (not really
a pick, but almost)
As you probably already know, past success is not a guarantee of future
results. While many hours of preparation and research go into each week's
picks, Hale provides no warranty, implied or express, for their success.
And anyone who can guarantee you a win is either lying or has ties to organized
crime.
