Last week was one of Hale's worst week's ever. No two ways about it. But we'll tell you what -- Hale rarely has two bad ones back-to-back. Also, the last year we did this, Week 4 is where it all turned around, starting a run of great picks that went to the Super Bowl.
Putting the week's fiasco behind us, here is what we have on tap for Week 4...
Seahawks + 2½: This week presents a true test for
the surging Seahawks, who face a real opponent in the Steelers. In the past 6 years,
Seattle is 0-6 against a team who's tough at home. This, though, is balanced by a myriad
of 80% trends that favor the Seahawks (last week at home where foe was away, etc.).
Overall, NFL teams that are ranked high which just won and play middle-rated teams that
just lost are 11-2 on the road since 1993 (and 15-3 if they're laying less than 5). In the
series, the Seahawks have covered 4 straight. Plus, this Seahawks opponent has a defense
that is worse than their last 3. Additionally, the Seahawks will make a tougher opponent
for the Steelers than last week's game against the Dolphins. The Seahawks have been
averaging an amazing 32 points a game while the Steelers have been only scoring 12 points
a game. The Seahawks should cover this one by a touchdown.
